Got a call from a company called CNG Services Llc saying they were calling on Microsoft Tech Support's behalf, explaining that I needed to activate some license or all of Microsoft's apps were going to stop running and my laptop would be dead. Said his name was Daniel (David?) Lee. He showed me where to go to see what was running and what wasn't (msconfig - services). This guy talked me into giving him control of my computer. He opened up a Notepad dialog box where he typed thing in. He had me type in my name and adress. Then he proceeded to tell me that he had 4 different protection plans: 2 year, 5 year, 8 year, and lifetime. He had me pick one then asked me if I was using Visa Debit or Visa credit. Since I had no intention of giving him banking info, I gave him credit card, but he didn't want that. He pushed for the Visa Debit card and expiry and the 3-digit # on the back. Then he (seemingly) deleted it and opened up an Intuit Quickbooks invoice page where I had to enter card info yet again to process the payment. At this point he passed me off to a "senior tech" named Allen Ash who opened some stuff and did things on my computer then he said he was done with me for now but to leave my computer on while a third guy, whom he called John Greenfield, kept working on my computer activating this so-called license and loading up all sorts of software. At that time he gave me a phone number and email address to contact them at for future reference. After "Allen" hung up I got out my phone and started Googling these men's names and their company. Nothing came up for cng services except for a compressed natural gas station company in Ohio. The phone number turned out to be cell phone belonging to an individual in Waterbury, CT. The email, "[email protected]" cam up empty, except I did find a techtawk.com which is a shop that sells a grand total of 15 items from a flash drive to a hard drive to a microsoft office license key. That's it. They have a "contact us" form which I used with a false name to inquire about these three individuals. I anticipate their response. I disonnected the tech from my computer and began an immediate Windows 10 factory reset (keeping personal files only) which removed everything he'd done. I called my bank and began an investigation which will get me my money back. They have called several times since. The first couple of times was an "unknown caller" number. I told them I knew they were a scam and to leave me alone, but this guy (he has an Indian accent) just doesn't get it. The last attempt came from a landline in San Juan Capistrano, California. That number is 1-949-373-5017. Finally I found a scam report for this company (cng services) on this site.

Received call from this fake company. They claim our computer was hacked. They talked my wife into letting them have remote access to our computer. They downloaded their garbage software onto computer. Took credit card info from us to set us up with a protection plan. The phone numbers they gave us were bogus. 848-207-4941 and 804-285-9518.
