I responded to a personal assistant job posting on LinkedIn for CW Global Engineering. Can’t find anything good or bad about the website for this company. Can’t find anything on the CEO who was requesting a personal assistant. I was offered the job and then immediately told my first “assignment” which is as follows: “Your first assignment would be to buy some gift items at any Walmart or nearby stores around you and mail them out through FedEx to the Foster homes, I do this every month. I will get my accountant to send payment across to you early next week. The payment will be in the form of a certified check which will be posted to you. Once you receive the check, you will take your first payment of $800 from it, after which you'll use the rest in carrying out your assignment.” I was then provided with a tracking number for the check, which was for $4980. Once the check arrived, it was in an envelope from Gittiz LLC. The check itself said it was from K Martin & Associates INC. Both of those places are registered to houses in New York.

I applied to a job on indeed labeled as, BARTENDER SERVER ((FULL-TIME//PART-TIME)) - Cincinnati, OH

Cincinnati Bartending School.

They reached out to me, told me i was a good fit for the job. But then it changed. From Bartender Server to CM Global Engineering. Two completely different jobs. They first reached out to me by text message 12178284102. Claiming to be Louis. All seemed like a normal interview. Then the main owner of the Company messaged me through email. [email protected], in which he continued to tell me about the job and how my first assignment would be to buy toys for kids for childrens care homes. They would send me a check and to take my first weekly pay from it and use the rent to carry out my assignment.

I am feeling off about this job. I tried to look it all up and the website is still fairly new. Can't find any information on the company nor the owner. I don't trust it and i will not be cashing out a random check either.
