Received a call stating I had legal paperwork that was being served to me, was given a number and case number. They sent me paper work from what looked like a legit letterhead. This paperwork had a Vin number on it and I do know over 10 years ago I did sign for a car but due to unforseen circumstances I abandoned the vehicle. So in my mind this made sense.I settled this debt. Was that a bad idea?
