My 83 year old mother was ordering two items on Amazon. After the first item was placed in the cart she had trouble with the second one. She searched on line for a customer support service for Amazon which apparently was fake. The person who answered said her whole computer was hacked and directed her to "Cisco" and "Cloud Crew LLC". She was told that Cloud Crew was faster and cheaper. She spoke to them and unfortunately allowed them access to her computer. They charged $700 for bogus "fixes" and would only accept payment from a cashier's check or personal check. Fortunately she didn't give them account/router numbers that would have been an electronic payment and never sent a check after telling us (children) her issues. Cloud Crew needed to call her back for some reason and the phone number is from out of the country. We could never find the erroneous Amazon number that she called (must have been blocked). My son has since cleaned up her computer to disallow access by this company and has had her change her user names and passwords.

I googled AT&T customer service line and found the phone # 1-866-792-8222. When I called, they answered as AT&T. I asked them to cancel my internet services and they said they would but then came back and told me my network was hacked. They referred me to Cloud Crew LLC and they even gave me a AT&T ticket number before transferred me there. They said I should not use any home devices that had been connected to the network including calling out from my phone. It would cost me $900 to cleanup all the hackers plus life time protection but they only accepted Cashier check or money order. I was puzzling for a moment but then they said they would not scam as it was me who called in through AT&T. Since I trusted AT&T, I thought they should be valid too! I brought the cashier check from bank and mailed it through USPS as Certified mail so I could give them the tracking number. They told me to call them back at 1-855-639-1333 with the USPS tracking number and they would finish the cleanup for me within an hour. They said they would cancel the AT&T internet service for me and I don't need to call them again. After a decision with my friend later on that evening, we agreed that it might be a scam as he had a different phone number for AT&T. I called AT&T with his number and figured that my internet service had not been canceled and they never refer their customer to this company! I had my case reported to both Sacramento and Vallejo PD
