After seeing an advertisement, that a liscensed indiana broker could rent my home, when no one else could, I called the broker, had an interview, discussedmy requirements, toured the house. The house was in new, clean condition.(Ihave photos). The contract was to be for one year, later the broker stated the contract was for 2years. Well, after posting signs in the yard, advertising on Craig's list, all at once my house was rented. My neighbor called and told me, the broker was immediately called by myself, to which the broker stated the house was rented. Would not give the name until I asked several times.

Well, the rent was never paid on time, I received late noticed from utilities, the neighbors complained to me and I directed them to the broker. I tried talking to the broker to avail and she repeatedly said there was nothing at the house to be concerned about. Finally,the broker setup an appointment due to the gas company being called due to gas leak in our house. Well, I could not believe my eyes. Filth, dirt, junk strewn every where, nothing cleaned. After looking at the stove which was new there was such a mess I could see why they called the gas company. The broker seemed to be un phased. I walked through the house and nothing was clean. The broker stated the tenants had 2 more months, after I told her I was not renewing a contract to rent the house...to them. Finally, the tenants were evicted due to the tenant being arrested for DWI in Anderson, Indiana.

When we finally got the tenants out the filth was beyond belief, as they lived in the house with no utilities the last month.

Now, I went around the Broker and hired someone (private) to come in and start the cleanup, to which the broker was Quite upset, and yelled at me you mean you will pay someone else to clean the house and repairs?? The broker continued to express her feeling stating her price of 850.00. to clean. This was the starting amount for her company's services.

The tenants were never managed, the house was never assessed while the tenants were in the house, and the broker made excuses for all my concerns. At one point she noted in her emails I was very confused. The fact, she was not getting more money from me seemed to frustrate her even more, and I finally after a screaming fit ran her off my property. When I took the tenant to court the broker put the complaint in her name not mine, so the most I could get was 1,500.

I sent the amount To National Collection out of Florida, and just received a notice today they could not get any of my Collection and want to close the case. Said they did all they could...?

I am still cleaning the house. The tenants poured coolaid all over my carpet, the damage was over 10,000.00 and counting.

As a broker liscensed in the state of indiana, did she rent our home to her friends?? And told them to damage the house, so she could collect

More money for paint, repairs, cleaning? The brokers husband does all the repairs. Also the tenants stole, my washer,my dryer, riding lawnmower, left rotten food in my refrigerator requiring the refrigerator to go to the dump,lawn equipment and broke out my back storm door, came back to the house and stole their items out of the house they forgot when evicted, and the above ground pool they had left. The neighbors stated the broker let the tenants in to the house so the could get their possessions. I have photos of their junk they left, and came back for.

I confronted the broker and she said she never changed the locks on the house so the tenants could have gotten back in...the neighbors called me to let me know, and stated the broker let them in and helped the tenants. When confronted the broker denied.

So, I could go on. I have all kinds of documentation, photos, emails, etc. but this was all illegal.

The tenant was taken to court, for DUI level 3,hit and run, then driving while suspended,

Larceny for more then 1,000. Unatherized use of motor/ convergence, conspiracy. Tenant owed I&M 500.00, 170. To sewage, 100. To Vectren, 900.00 in rent to me, to which the broker demanded

I pay her 90.00 for rent she would not collect. Plus, court costs, and other fees she could drum up.

Well, this is to make you aware of what is happening in the rental business from liscensed brokers, in Indiana. This all sounds like scams to me.
