Its either a money con, identify theft, or attempted information ransom. Posted vehicle for sale on Craigslist, FB marketplace, Cars.com, Autotrader. Received a text from 667-291-3009 inquiring about the vehicle. "is your classified for Dodge is it available?". 1st flag. Tried calling number, instant voicemail followed by text "now isnt the best time for me to talk on phone, ok if we text?". 2nd flag. They say they will come see this right now if i will "download a carfax report report on the Dodge for me please". I ask where they are from, they say they are from Pikesville, MD originally but recently moved to 30minutes outside of Roseville, MI. 3rd flag. They send me a link suggesting "the best place to get a car fax is "trackingtire.com/zYMK8yv/4ef2" because their brother is a dealer and told me this is the cheapest most reliable". 4th flag. They then want me to forward it to [email protected]. 5th flag considering the voicemail answering machine was that of a male saying "hey its me, please leave a message". I try to understand what ad they saw, they respond "ive been looking for a dodge for a long time. ??". 6th flags. Six flags and its not a theme park. I will not go to the website or download anything. considering this person a fraud and further communication with them will solely be for my own amusement.
