In a private Facebook group, I asked the members for recommendations to finding a specific vehicle part that isn’t manufactured any longer. Some members replied with used ones, and one specific gave this company name along with a good recommendation. So I took the bait, believing this site might have a new one. After messaging back and forth, paying through Cashapp, I thought it was going to delivered. I also had to pay a supposedly refundable insurance amount that would be refunded after delivery to a different account on Cashapp. I was getting phone calls but no message. We messaged again through instant message to find out the part was supposedly attempted to be delivered multiple times. He states in a message, since I didn’t accept the delivery the first 2 days, ( I was working) that now there is money owed ($200) due to storage fee. Silly me didn’t think about an invoice and how ridiculous of charging a storage fee of something he supposedly had in stock already taking up space. He was VERY pushy to get the transaction done ASAP. Stupidly, I paid the first $100. Then he states he maid a mistake, there is an additional $100 that he wasn’t aware of because I of the second day delivery attempt. I had already clarified of just the first $100. At this point I stopped paying anymore money and realized I had been taken. When asking to be refunded, all I got was bogus excuses. After all of this because I don’t work on vehicles, I checked his photo of the part against online photos, and they don’t match. Do what I didn’t do, and research any company before purchases. There was no part, no delivery attempts, no invoice, tracking, etc. All scam.
