I got an car accident on freeway, It was a hydroplane and I hit the wall and stopped, luckily I didn't hit anybody. Then I called the CHP to report what happened and then, I was about to call AAA to get my car towed,(didn't call) this towing truck with big AAA sign stopped and asked me If I need my car to get towed so I said yes, then He asked me If I have an AAA member card so, I handed my AAA card to him and he checked and returned it to me, which is exactly AAA roadside service people do. And He towed my car to his garage, because my car had bad oil leak and He was keep telling me there is no storage fee and everything will be all taking care of because I'm a AAA member. and I went home and decided not to report my accident to my car insurance because I didn't hit anybody ,and I was going to donate my car to charity so, next day I called the garage and told them that donation people was going to come and pick up my car, and This lady answered the phone said that's fine but, you have to come and pay for the storage fee $300 and I said" but the driver told me I don't have to pay" and they asked me IF I CALLED AAA? and I said NO BECAUSE HE WAS ALREADY THERE BEFORE I CALLED AND I SHOW HIM MY CARD. and she said If you didn't call that doesn't count . I got so angry and sad and panic and didn't know what to do so I asked my friend what I should do? and he told me I should call insurance company and let them handle the situation, so I did. They are using AAA name to scam people on the road who had accident and in need. When you get an accident you are feeling panic and can't think straight This is absolutely SCAM.
