I called a number to inquire about a puppy for sale. They didn’t pick up but instead texted me, and I went back and forth with them about the specifics of the dog. They sent more pictures but refused to call or video chat, and were generally vague and defensive. They want the payment through PayPal or Venmo. They also sent me a reference number of a person who’d bought one of their puppies, which I called, only to have a similar text conversation that ended with them telling me they had to go because their son was in the hospital. I’m afraid of someone else falling for this.
