Subject: Complaint Against Clara Co. for False Advertising and Poor Quality Products

Dear Better Business Bureau,

I am writing to formally file a complaint against an online company called Clara Co. for engaging in false advertising regarding their hoodies and sweatpants. I placed an order on January 16, and I received my product today, February 4. Unfortunately, the items I received are not only visibly different from what was advertised on their website, but the material is also of very cheap and low quality.

Upon contacting Clara Co. regarding my concerns, I was informed that they cannot issue a refund because the item was on sale. However, it appears that the item is perpetually on sale, which raises questions about the legitimacy of their pricing practices. After conducting further research, I have discovered that hundreds of other customers have experienced similar issues and have been scammed in the same manner.

It is incredibly frustrating to see that Clara Co. continues to operate despite these complaints. I am seeking assistance from the Better Business Bureau to address this situation, as I have been scammed out of $50 with no recourse for a refund.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I hope to see some action taken against this company to prevent further consumer fraud.

I saw an ad on my social media page, for some camouflage hoodies. The original retail price of the hoodies are $79.95 for one. I saw the ad a couple times earlier this month, January 2025, and the hoodies were on sale each time. They were going for $19.95 but came to be $30 with shipping. The sale promo kept saying the “New Years sale would end today” but the sale has been dragging out for the whole month now. I believed the sale would end soon and I bought a hoodie because I really wanted one of them. I order two hoodies, both different sizes and both different colors. They came about a week later and they were not like the item pictured. I was very disappointed and emailed the company for a refund on my items and how I wanted to return the hoodies back because they weren’t the same hoodies they were selling. They didn’t help me and said only if there were defects. I told them that both items are defected and they stopped emailing me back. I then went back onto the social media app I first found them on and looked up the reviews, so many people have been scammed by this company. Very cheap and poor quality, they stole their pictures of the clothes from other clothing brands, the clothes don’t have tags, very faded and cheaply printed on. I went back to read their refund policy and they don’t do refunds on sale items, the items I bought were sale. I figured it was an easy way for that company to scam people, seeing how nice the supposed hoodies were and getting them for a good price they must’ve had a lot of people ordering because of that deal.

My sister cited the Clara & Co website as where she wanted a trendy camo hoodie from, so I ordered it for her for Christmas. The item ended up being counterfeit, made of some awful dri-fit material and ripped at the sleeve out of the package. I went on their website to request a refund only to find that not only is the item perpetually "on sale" to trick customers, but their refund policy states that they do not refund items that were purchased on sale.
