I got a call, did not answer the phone. They left this message, "“Received a notification regarding your tax filings from the headquarters which will get expired in the next 24 working hours and once again expired after that you will be taken under custody by the local cops as there are four serious allegations pressed on your name at this moment we would request you to get back to us so that we can discuss about this case before taking any legal action against you the number to reach us is 754-210-8880 I repeat 754-210-8880 thank you…”

- Hanson, MA, USA

Called with a recorded voice first saying there was a warrant for my arrest due to unreported income tax from 2008 - 2016. Called ID say New York. When I called back, they demanded money first but then started asking for gift cards. I hung up when they started asking for Wal-Mart cards.

- Melrose, MA, USA

I just received a voice mail on my private cell phone number at 12:13pm on June 30th. I got an automated voice mail that said "Form you that IRS is filing lawsuit against you to get more information about this case file please call immediately on our department number 201-365-2726. I repeat 201-365-2726 thank you."

I called back from my work because it's a blocked phone number for privacy issues. He tried to get information out of me, but I told him I knew it was a scam because the IRS sends out letters and doesn't just call and leave automated voice mail. He then said "I sucked." I hung up.

Claims they are giving final notice before the IRS sues me for unpaid taxes

- Mishawaka, IN, USA

I received robo-calls from both these numbers claiming that I was subject of IRS fraud investigation. I needed to call the phone number to settle the matter out of court.

A message is left notifying the recipient of a phone call that the IRS is going to file a lawsuit against them. I finally called the "callback" number (a Washington, DC number 202-386-6298) and a foreign male answered. I asked why they were calling me and he replied, "* *** *** ** *** ** * *** *** ***"

There is a bunch of noise in the background as if it is a call center. I have received several calls from this number in the past several days. There was also a similar IRS message left earlier this week from 914-297-6412 in Bronxville, NY.

This is the number that is being used claiming to be the IRS filing a claim against you. Called on my cell phone so all I have is a phone number. I have gotten this call several times.

Claims lawsuit being waged by irs calls multiple times a week wanting SS number and payment leaving messages and hanging up with when questioned

I was called and told that I was being audited by the IRS and was going to be sued by the IRS. They said they had sent two notices by mail that I hadn't responded to. They called twice in one day. The second time they said it was their final notice and that they would be revoking drivers license and taking property. I called back and received a busy signal multiple times. When I finally reached a person they spoke in a strong Indian accent so they were hard to understand. He said I was being audited for 3 prior tax years. He named an amount of money that I owed, said that all the information was in a file in Washington D.C. I asked for his name and identification. He said his name was John Steve and his badge number was IRM 757508. I asked to speak with a manager twice but he wouldn't comply. Eventually he hung up on me.

My grandmother received a phone call from an automated system claiming to be an IRS agent. They stated she had a lawsuit against her and to call a number back.. The number is 7157038896. When I call the number a woman answered. I informed her I received a call about a lawsuit and she hung up immediately.

Message on phone claims IRS will be filing a suit against me and to contact them at 240-328-2845 for more information

- Roann, IN, USA

Received phone message 12/16/2015 from what sounded like the IRS, stating that our name and SSN were attached to an ongoing investigation and that we were to call 844-757-6732 and that if we didn't respond that they would have no choice but to accept our lack of contact as a forfeit of our legal rights and procedures would be taken against us. Phone call originated from Clarendon, TX in a reverse look up with a number of 806-205-6322 which is a cell number. No return call was made, as I am fully aware that the IRS does not make phone calls.
