Unfortunately I am one of the unemployed due to Coronavirus. I was desperate and I looked on Craigslist for admin jobs. I contacted the emailed provided and sent my resume over. I was contacted first by a Jennifer Beach Thompson who claimed to be a Recruiter with Varian Medical Systems who had me answer questions and submit a cover letter and resume. She then set up a virtual interview on the Glip app. I received a offer of employment 48 hrs after the interview through an email which was [email protected]. They sent three attachments to fill out. One was an offer letter, the other was a w-2 form and the third was instructions on how to go about purchasing my at home equipment. I became suspicious after looking over in great detail the forms. The W-2 had a start date of March and it is April and I noticed none of the emails had phone numbers attached . I emailed Jennifer to request some sort of proof that this was a legit company and offer and haven’t heard anything back from her. I even emailed the [email protected] to ask why the start date on the w-2 was wrong and to ask further questions. No response. I quickly looked on Craigslist and notice that the ad had expired and was taken down. I ran a ScamPulse.com search and found that others had the same experience as I did. I looked on linkin, Facebook, and the actual website Varian Medical Systems and they do (well it seems it’s a legit company)have a Recruiter by that name but from one of the previous ScamPulse.com reported incident which advised if she used @variancareers.com it was fake which of course it was. I called her out on it on Glip but of course she is not responding. The only information they unfortunately got or of me was my full address and name. Along with information on my resume.
