Claiming to be with Sesen Bio Reports & Reviews (1)

- Westminster, MD, USA

The original email came from Kourtney FInn stating that Sesen Bio was looking to fill several remote positions. Note: Her name is actually Kourtney Finn and did not respond after I sent a separate email to her email. She seems like a Recruiter and says if interested to forward my resume to Mr. Mark R. Sullivan at [email protected]. I should have picked up on this scam much quicker because there were some grammatical errors in their emails and the hiring letter needed my signature for the job offer. "Mark" asked me to answer a series of essay questions via email. And said I did a great job that HR would be reviewing and to be available at 8am next morning. I was responsive and I was awarded the position less than 24 hours after I submitted my essay answers. He requested my general information including, my name, address and my phone number, he then texted me using 617-690-8210 to make sure it was me. I was asked to buy equipment in order to perform the training that I would be provided by the training supervisor who was supposed to be calling me after I received my paperwork and that I would be reimbursed in my first paycheck. I wasn't going to submit anything until I heard from someone on the phone and had an actual conversation about the position. I texted him to call me and he did, he had a foreign accent but I couldn't place it. His accent didn't seem to match the picture I saw of Mark R. Sullivan who is pictured on the sesen bio website and can also be found when googled. I was confused because he sent me a phony offer letter with another person who was featured on the website, plus a W-4 and a 'Direct Deposit Enrolment Form. What seemed odd is that there were extra 's' added where they shouldn't have been in a formal letter. Plus after we talked on the phone & I questioned him on his personal information, I hung up then he texted me: "If you are willing to proceed further, we can terminate your hiring process" - he seemed to have forgotten the word "not" after "if you..." so that confirmed to me it was a scam. No further messages or information sent after that text. Caution: he was trying to extort $510 for the equipment and get my banking account information. However, he will answer the phone and his texts but Kourtney will not answer her emails.
