Received Suspected Fake Check

Job hunting. Contacted by "Jude Wade" (JW) touting to be Purna Pharmaceuticals HR Manager. Skype only. Contacted Purna HR, no response. Similar to other JW contacts described. Believe the check is fake. Bank address is incorrect as listed on American Bankers Association (ABA) website (could have been a typo, when the suspect check was generated/printed); MICR line smudges when dampened (clear indicator). This guy is a real "gem", wanted to arrange "Orientation" and "Training". JW's scheme is evolving apparently, no telling what would happen.

I was looking for jobs one day when I received an email from “Jude Wade” from Purna Pharma. The email sounded very legit but strange they wanted to use Skype to talk. I looked up Purna Pharma and it’s a legit company in Belgium but they have no locations in the US. This person did an “interview” all through skype text. No call or video call, just text. I found it very suspicious so I started to look if this has happened to others and about 4 others it’s happened to. Now I know it’s truly a scam.

I was applying for jobs on Job Seekers and i was contacted by this company to have an interview with them over Skype for an Administrative Assistant (Remote) and we went through the whole interview process and i was given the position. I was told that I would be working remotely, and I would receive a check to purchase a laptop and the required program that I needed in order to do the job as well as $250 for a sign on bonus. So, I called ScamPulse.com to see if this was a legit company and the agent couldn't find any information pertaining to the company and it was just too many red flags, like I never spoke to someone directly it was via text on Skype.
