They responded to a job ad on Upwork for a part-time proofreader. They asked all the right questions to make me believe that it was a legit job. They went as far as using a real business with the names of real employees (like "AnnMarie Dechiaro" and "Dana Martin"). They said they would need to send me an initial paycheck to front the equipment cost from their vendor. All of this was extremely convincing. It wasn't until I came on here to check and saw that someone else had fallen prey to this scam also.
