Claiming to be Prolific Works on Upwork

My contact person was "Mr Albert Edward" Albert Edwards, from HR. on Prolific Works, wanting to hire Spanish translators. Same experience as other reviewers. I emailed the company via their support email address and they confirmed that this is a scam, in fact they have a FRAUD ALERT banner on their website. Also "Mara Perez" is the person messaging on Upwork.

Prolific Works- Upwork SCAM!!!!

SCAM ALERT!At first it seems legitimate. They will make you do an interview through chat on Telegram (first red flag) most company’s use zoom rather than communicating with you through Upwork. Then the will make you going through all these questions about the job and why they should hire you. Once you basically go through all that and they say you are hired….they will want you to mobile deposit a check to pay for software (which the software they listed is mostly free). My person was Bob Rees. I’m never comfortable depositing a check from someone I do not know is creditable for it! I lied and told them my bank rejected the check for fraud ( which I never did actually uploaded the check) after that I haven’t gotten a response from the. I also reported their job post to Upwork

Fake Profilic Works Job in Upwork

They give you a text interview through Telegram and then they tell you, you need to buy a lot of equipment so you can do the job from home. They offer to deposit the money to your bank account through mobile banking. They have at least 10 "job openings" for translators of every language in Upwork.

Also got the "job" via upwork. Talked to "Mary Robinson" via Telegraph app. Sent obvious fake check to deposit. When I told them it was cleared (not really). They told me to Zelle transfer $650 of the cleared funds to a Maria Perez.

Posted ad on upwork looking for freelancers. Went through interview process that seemed normal. Offered employment, then requested to deposit a check into mobile bank specifically for over $1000 prior to setting up any type of training or onboarding. Very suspicious.
