Scammers are posing as hiring for remote employment opportunities. an interview is conducted via Zoom message. Once hired that inform that a check to purchase work equipment will be emailed and should be printed in color and deposited using your bank's mobile app. When I asked if a physical check could be mailed and taken to my bank the hiring manager said yes at first and later stated that that the company's courier service isn't available to mail the check due to covid and they are the only service used by the company. They also later stated that the check could only be deposited using my bank mobile app. When asked why, she said that the account officer updated her that the pdf check would not be accepted inside my bank if I took it there and would only be accepted using the mobile app. I asked if I could speak with his by phone and a gentleman called stating that he was Simon from accounting and that I had been signed up for the mobile bank option and that it would take a lot of work to change that option. He attempted to sway my decision by asking, "How about we just try using mobile banking and if that doesn't work we try the physical check?" I informed him that that was not an option for me and he said that he would look into getting the option changed and call me back. Minutes after the call ended I received a Zoom message from the "hiring manager" asking what conclusion we had come to. I asked her if the he updated her and she did not reply.
