They sent a text message and I immediately knew it sounded sketchy because I do not recall applying to a company by the name of crowther. The link took me to a page where it asked for way too much personal information when I have not even spoken to anyone over the phone.

They have graduated to just text messages. You are sent a link to fill in and soon as you are done, they ask you for your social and I was like I have not even spoke to anyone for an interview or anything. They told me that this is the interview and if I can not pass the background then I am not getting the job. Funny thing is I can not find where I even applied to this group at all. I joined a group on Linkedin but that is it

Found a job at on Facebook for a work from home administrative assistant. Did the Facebook apply. Received an email response with a job offer staying no interview or training necessary and with absolutely no contact information.
Seemed very suspicious.

Found an online assistant position from Crowther. The only contact was through email, and they said they would send a check for $2,950.00, which they told me was for equipment and materials. They wanted me to deposit the check and send it to an "independent supplier." They don't want you to know that once you deposit the check and it is "in" your account, that doesn't mean the check has cleared. So once you send the money to someone else, you are stuck with the responsibility of paying back your bank however much you spend of that check. These people are vile and should be in prison. The name in the photos provided is a worker at the real Crowther construction company, so these people do their research. Be careful, everyone.

I was offered a position on Indeed from The Crowther Group. There was no interview so I immediately felt as though it was a scam. They are saying they will send a check for equipment and my first weeks pay however I haven’t actually gotten to speak with anyone. I am in Denver, CO. I want to report this so it doesn’t happen to some other desperate job seeker.

Discovered job posting on facebook and sent my resume. Was contacted via email regarding the job and then offered position. Then contacted me by text message with tracking number for a check sent to purchase equipment. I contacted the real crowther group/company and they clarified that it was a scam and that the position offered doesn’t exist.
