What was interesting was the fact they felt very pushy to have me answer "Yes", and also kept emphasizing the call was recorded.
They wanted payments to be paid via Credit/Debit card over the phone. I refused to give card information over the phone, and asked for a mailer instead and said I could "pledge" $25 via Check/Cash.
It still feels very suspicious, because if my voice was recorded, I was recorded saying my name and address, but that's it. I did not provide any further information. I'm also curious to see if they'll come back and threaten legal action saying a payment wasn't received.
The concern would be this is a scam trying to fish for voice signatures to authorize transactions with customer service reps over the phone for other companies. Some banks offer "Voice Signatures" now, such as Wells Fargo. Although I don't have it configured, I'm wondering if others do.
