We were solicited for mortgage restructure and was given personal info until my wife reached it and found that the website and paper work being asked for was fraud. We called our mortgage company because they were posing as a third party to restructure with them. Our mortgage company had no knowledge of these people. They are a complete SCAM and don't fall for these letters in he mail. The guys names were Gabriel Chavez and William Owen. they recorded names and asked questions where you would answer yes. BE AWARE!

A letter was sent to my home to restructure a mortgage with many government programs. They wanted money overnighted to them by money order and mailed by the post office, specifically said not Fed EX or UPS. After researching the address, it gave me the store front of a mailbox place located in California, I called the place and asked it the attorney's office was close to them, this was the address given to return documents. I read the guy on the other line the Mailbox number and he confirmed that that was a mailbox and there was no such attorney at that address. These people pose record your name on the phone and ask a bunch of home repair questions. The point of Contact was Gabriel Chavez (case manager) and William Owen, posing as the states underwriter from ASSET DEFENSE LAW OFFICE, I researched the website, CITIZENS ASSIST NATIONAL and learned it has only been valid since March 2017. Accredited attorneys do not have anything mailed to a mailbox in a storefront. These people are believable, do not fall for letters in the mail...they are all SCAMS!!!! Unfortunately, some personal information was breeched and given to these people. DO NOT be fooled!

I rec'd a letter from Hardest Hit Fund Enrollment and Processing (not really from them) saying I was pre-approved for a reduction in the principal of my mortgage w/ a phone number to call. I called the number and answered several questions regarding my mortgage/personal info - when I bought my house, what I owe - where I worked - hardship, etc. The person said he was from Citizen Assist National and they work with Hardest Hit Fund to pre-qualify people for the program and I was pre-selected. He was to send me an email looking for a paystub and mortgage statement. I have experience with Hardest Hit Fund and mentioned that - I think when the phone person brought it to the person running the scam - he was told not to email me. I did not get the email so I researched the website and it has only been online for 17 days (I feel like a fool being an IT Professional to get scammed like this). I don't think the info is enough to steal my identity - but from a paystub they may be able to get people's social security numbers - I just don't want any one else to fall for this and get scammed worse than I did.
