The scammer contacted my church and told them that she was giving away a free Yamaha baby grand piano that had belonged to her late husband to a dedicated musician. The church secretary contacted me and I emailed the scammer thinking it was trustworthy because it came from the church. The scammer directed me to Classes Wings Moving and Storage and told me to pay for the moving fee. When I paid over Zelle, I was contacted and told I had to pay the storage fee as well to move the piano. I paid part of it because I had only known about the piano for so long and it wasn't fair to pay for all of it. Two months later, she still hadn't paid and when I tried to pay the remaining balance to get the piano, I was told to Zelle the money to [email protected]. It was completely inappropriate for a business and that's when I realized it was a scam.
