I ordered two electric e-bikes, one for my friend and one that was supposed to be a gift. It was being advertised on snapchat and I went around and looked at the website. The website was a little shaky looking but when I looked up the site's publishing date it said it had been around since 2017. A hubless e-bike for $50 was way too good to be true I was aware of this the entire time and embarrassingly it was stupid on my part but it would have been an awesome gift for my niece so I figured it was maybe worth the risk. I had it ordered to my friend's house because I live in a condo and it was easier, but the day it arrived it came through usps with a tracking number and everything, but instead of two e-bikes it was two water bottle holders that attach to bikes, something that could probably be bought at Walmart for under $10 and obviously not what we thought we ordered. He sent me pictures and never took them out of their individual packages. We knew we had been scammed at this point I emailed the company @[email protected] and played along saying I think they made a mistake and shipped me the wrong item. They told me told me that the time and money it would take to send the items back would not be worth it (they sent the wrong items so I don't know how it would cost me?) and that it's best if I just keep the items and they'd send me $15 back. Then I emailed them again and explained how that was not right and they said the best they could go was giving me $21 back but that I should still keep the items. Obviously they had no intention of ever selling any of those bikes and I apologize for any inconvenience because I realize it was absolutely absurd of me to trust this website and deal. I was lying in bed late at night thinking hey maybe I found some crazy hidden deal on snapchat, and if I do get scammed I could at least find some gratification in trying to help shut down the scam afterwards.
