I had a online job for secret shopping pop up also , same thing I just got an envelope in mail with a big check saying to go to any bank n deposit it keep put so much of it and then go to any store who has Nike gift cards scratch off back and send it back to them via text msg ! Do I just rip this up or call the police ?

I applied for a secret shopper job on an ad I saw on social network. I had been a secret shopper for a company back in the 90’s, so knew what to expect . Today received a text message telling me an envelope would arrive by Usps with information on how to do the job(red flag)

Sure enough it came, all looked legit, Accept they were giving me money to buy gift cards at stores and send them a text of the card numbers and codes on the back after scratched off. That seemed fishy (red flag) plus not suppose to tell bank when you cash the check where you got the check. (Third red flag). This is not how secret shopper companies work.
