I sold merchandise on Facebook Marketplace. The buyer said they would pay via the Chime app and then supplied the above email to send funds after Chime rejected two fraudulent attempted transfers. The email demands more money, via gift cards, because the account has to be "upgraded" before the funds can be released.

Used Facebook Marketplace to front a scam along with Chime app to coordinate fake email responses to fake issues with payments by chime for money sent to purchase merchandise. I can provide email communication if needed. Thanks, Steve.

I ran into that, too. Although I was suspicious from the start, it wasn't until $290 vanished and they wanted more that I realized it was, in fact, a scam. Your report, which I found later, confirmed it.
