I contacted chime because I created a chime account along time and never used it. So when I decided to open one this year 2024 I reached out and the agent asked me a series of questions that I answered. She said she needed to verify my identity. I answered everything correctly. Then she tells me she’s going to send me a link and I need to send a photo of my id and the front and back of my social security card.

This is a major red flag.

I told her that I can send my passport. She said no and I even spoke with a supervisor and email support. I asked for where in the by laws and fine print that it says to reactive an account the account holder has to upload the front and back of their social security card. They have yet to provide this information.

Today I received the refund for the amount of $4,700 from college tuition so I called Chime to check to see if the money was there because the money have didn't post yet but the person told me that to download an app called any desk and that he will help me with my claim but once I got off the phone with him he has sent the claim. My money was sent to two different people and then block me from calling the number that I had called so I wouldn't request to get my money back from him

The Bancorp Bank and CHIME BANK are absolutely a banking joke and do not even deserve one star.

On Thanksgiving Day, November 23, 2023 we called a customer service number to inquire about some issues we were having connecting our Chime account to our Venmo account. The recording was exactly like the recording you receive when you call Chime, stating the phone number we were calling from was linked to an account......... blah blah blah............ but unfortunately this ended up being a scammer on the other end of the phone. Within about 15 minutes, my Chime account was drained down to 63 cents. That is nearly $4400 dollars that they stole from me. In less than 30 minutes I contacted Chime and filed a dispute against the 2 transactions. In less than 3 hours, I received an email notifying me that my dispute was denied. Over the next 4 days, we filed 2 more disputes, which were also denied. Today we filed a rebuttal against the denials but I am sure those will be denied as well.

While on the phone with J.R. at Chime, I ask why the claim was denied without any explanation. He said he would have that explanation emailed to me within 3 days. I then ask where the money went. IT WAS TRANSFERRED TO ANOTHER CHIME ACCOUNT. Wait! What?

Can you not just transfer my money back to me? Can't you "investigate" Joanna Sanders ($Joanna-Sanders-9) and Corina Contreras ($Corina-Contreras-6) that clearly shows on my transaction list, with a note that says "Activation Fee".

I'm questioning that Chime even has a Fraud Department. Are you not investigating fraudulant phone numbers listed as "Chime Customer Service". You've denied every claim in record time....... is that really an investigation?

CHIME IS A TOTAL JOKE AND MY BAD FOR THINKING THEY WERE A LEGITIMATE BANK.

Chime Bank was given pictures and video of the thief that stole $400 from me and put me through hell for 5 months calling me names and telling me the Police photos were fake. They weren't. To this day they have not paid credit for the theft nor have they done any investigation or worked with the police. All they have done is called both the police and me liars which is not true. Chime is full of lying people. I warn you to steer clear of these thieves! They have the worst customer service experience ever and these people will torture you for fun!!

I experienced identity theft, with someone gaining access to my email address and an old mailing address. With this info, the theft opened a Chime account and ordered a Chime credit card. When I reported the fraud to the phone # listed at Chime.com, the company refused to close the fraudulent account.

I received an email from CHIME on 7/11/23 stating Welcome to Chime. I received another email stating for me to Finish setting up direct deposit. I received another email to create a password. I received another email stating that my phone# had been updated to 520-654-0704. I received another email stating that stating that my completed direct deposit form was attached. The information was not my banking information. The routing # was ********* with a checking account number of ************. I called Chime and they confirmed there was an open account in my name. I reported it as fraud and they told me the account had been closed. I researched the routing # today and called the bank which was The Bankcorp Bank. They confirmed that routing and account # was for their bank and referred me back to Chime regarding any questions related to the Chime account. The address that Chime used to create the account was an address I hadn’t lived at in almost 10 years.

I received several emails about a Visa Debit card that they are sending me. They want to hook up my bank account and paycheck. I never opened this account. I tried to call the phone number to tell them that I did not open this account and I want it stopped. The guy on the phone said I had to give my birth date and last 4 of my social. I refused. I requested a supervisor. He said I could not talk to anyone else. I have credit freezes on all three bureaus and Fraud alert. How was this opened?

Email from Chime stated someone logged into my account from a different computer or phone, told me to change my password. I have no account at Chime. I found the Chime website on the internet, has the same phone no as was listed on the email. I gave them a call to say I had no account as I was worried about someone setting up credit in my name. I was asked for the last 4 digits of my social, which I did not give, but did give my birthdate. I was told there was no account in my name. However, I was given their website email, [email protected] to follow up with, which I did, also giving my birthdate in order to double check if there was an account and to close any such account, which they supposedly did in the next email even though I was previously told there was no account. Now I am worried about the info they did get and am wondering if I should have just ignored everything, putting the first email in spam. I will set up a fraud alert on the credit reporting companies, being mainly worried about what Chime will do with my information.
