I recently was laid off so I conducted an aggressive job search using third party job boards. I received a message in my email stating this person wanted to conduct an email for a remote customer service position with Pebble Technology International-through Microsoft Teams. I answered the questions and it appeared somewhat professional but I was alerted when the self proclaimed 'hiring manager' Chet White ( a fake name) wanted me to cut a check and then send a vendor 400.00 to get equipment before the funds had cleared. I got the Zelle contact- John Payne (email: [email protected]). In my vulnerability looking for employment I allowed the conversation to go on longer than I should have, and I did give him the benefit of the doubt because the questions were somewhat professional and appropriate. However, urgently prompting me to send the funds alerted me to the integrity of this interaction. I let him know he would be reported and that he may not contact me again.

I literally just had this interview and was skeptical so I started doing research. They also use this email [email protected] under the name Seth. They said they were sending me a check in the mail for equipment, I knew this was too good to be true!
