"Dr. Mike" of the business claims to be a wedding officiant is Spokane County. He states that he is an ordained minister on his website and has been since 2005. When I tried to find information about him there is nothing online. When I asked him for a reference from past clients he states that he will give me a discounted rate because it would be his first wedding he has officiated. His first wedding in 16 years. His business is a scam. He then proceeded to look up my fiancé on social media and make comments about her professional life in the email exchange. If it goes any further a police report will be filed and charges pressed.

Hello! I'm Dr. Mike. Let's take this complaint apart and see what is going on here. (1) I have documented proof that Cherished Memory Weddings is a legitimate corporation, an LLC duly registered with the State of Washington. (2) I can also supply copies of my ordination-in-good-standing documents with the three (3) organizations that have ordained me as a Minister, the first one did so in 2005, and I have attached a photo of that ordination. (Yes, I covered my last name for security purposes. I am happy to share that with anyone who is interested in my services.) (4) I can show documentary proof that I have passed a background check. (5) I have listed my ordinations on our website along with the results of the background check. (6) This person who "complained" NEVER CONTACTED ME DIRECTLY to voice any complaint. Why is that? (7) I offered to supply personal references to these folks as to my character, my background, etc -- and was not asked for them and never contacted again. (8) I asked in THREE follow-up emails if we could get on a call or a Zoom to discuss the service, my background, my references, etc. Not one single reply. (9) This "complaint" was filed the day AFTER the fiance in question said, in an email, that she wanted us to set up a Zoom -- and then I never heard back from her, ever. (10) Yes, I did look up the person who contacted me about conducting the service on social media. These days many many people look up folks on the Internet, Facebook, Twitter, etc as a safety precaution. (11) In the email exchange, I mentioned that we both had backgrounds in the performing arts -- that was the extent of my "comments about her professional life." (12) I can supply recent 5-star reviews of just some of the weddings I've officiated here in Washington. (13) There is no requirement for someone who is an ordained minister for 16 years to perform weddings. Lots of ordained ministers never perform weddings. (14) There is no central directory of everyone who is an ordained minister on the Internet. (15) I have worked very hard ---- and do so every single day of the week -- to make sure Cherished Memory Weddings is an honest and respected company. If someone has an issue with ANY aspect of our service, I welcome the opportunity to talk about it via Zoom or via a telephone call and make the situation right. Sincerely -- Dr. Mike
