I found a "Chef" on Instagram. I had been following this chef for months or just about a year. I consulted with Chef Jenny and agreed to book her private chef services for $500.00 The occasion was my wife's 30th birthday celebration. The service was to take place on 5/22/23. Her services included a private dinner at the location she provided with a bottle of champagne, appetizer, entrée and dessert as well as decorations. I paid 200.00 on 3/27 and the balance of 339.99 on 5/06/23, On 5/19/23 she offered car services to and from my home. She was supposed to be the driver and provide a bottle of champagne for the ride. I sent her an additional $250.00 at her request for her car services. On 5/22 she was supposed to pick us up at 7pm. She did not call to say she would be late or pick us up. When I called her 20 minutes after 7pm she explained her car was hit by someone, her side mirror was cracked and she needed to get her tire fixed. She asked me to drive to the location and that she would refund me my money for the car service. I could not drive, because I was drinking thinking I would be riding in her car so I took a cab to her location. 18 minutes prior to our arrival to Philadelphia from NJ she stated she was still trying to get her car fixed. We arrived and she asked me to wait in a hotel lobby bar until she arrived. She asked me to have a couple of drinks and stated she would reimburse me explaining how sorry she was. We waited for her until 11pm (Dinner was scheduled for 830 pm). She asked me to take my wife to another location "hookah bar". We do not smoke. I obliged waiting for her to come because at this point it was late. I had no other plans for my wife's birthday and it was to late to find something else to do on a Monday night. We waited there while having a drink until shortly after midnight. She stated she was sorry, she just arrived to the location and that it would take her some time to get things setup and she would reimburse me the following morning completely and do it for free when I returned from my trip. My wife and I had a flight to catch, we had to be up at 3:30 am. We left. I did not receive any of my money back. I inquired the next day and she said I would have it the following day. That her daughter would send it to me because I sent the money to her via apple cash and she did not have that. The money was never sent. I called her and she never answered the phone afterwards. I texted her, she responded once and never responded again. I called her daughter who at first was answering me but now is not. I spent an additional $250 dollars that night between cabs traveling between states (NJ and PA) for drinks and food. I have nothing to show for it. To make matters worse she has posted things on social media all week long and is not responding to my messages. I feel like I was scammed for my money at this point and I am going to sue and and file a police report.
