Absolute horrific, abusive CEO and poor company culture.

This is, without a doubt, the worst company you could work for. I would not work here unless in danger of literal homelessness because while the core idea of this company is interesting and has potential, the CEO Layla is a disrespectful, disparaging wretch of a boss (in mine, and many others, opinion). For a woman consistently making errors in her own work, she has such a lack of self awareness that she will belittle you and question your education at every turn. In between telling you to leave fake reviews for her own personal products (books, events etc.) she will send you voice notes to let you know she believes you are trying to undermine her when you ask for questions and clarifications. My last day, I finally told her in a series of honest Whatsapp messages that I felt berating employees does not help the company and that respect is a two-way street - improving company culture would stop the constant revolving door of employees and better the organization. She proceeded to tell me that she had employees "dying[;] they have incurable diseases" (this is literally what she said) and accused me of attacking her. Don't worry though - if you quit she will decide how many hours she wants to pay you regardless of what you actually worked and what is shown in the timesheets she reviews every day!

Unethical business practices

Layla often does not pay her employees and therefore does not retain them. She is constantly cycling through employees, having them work for free (which they don't realize) until they quit out of frustration. Many of them are foreign and working remotely and are not able, don't feel comfortable, or simply do not have the funds to take her to court. She requires them to subscribe to her online educational platform (in the guise of having them see what the customer sees so as to edit it) and then refuses to cancel their subscriptions. I am still paying for mine, as she refuses to cancel (there is no support team - it's her), so I am in the process of talking to an Attorney General in CA. Additionally, part of her employees' jobs is to go on employment sites to write stellar reviews about the company. She also has them go on Amazon to give her books 4-star reviews.

I am currently an educator who is also in the process of receiving an Ed.D. From an educational perspective, she has young children doing experiments that are not tested with content that is not cited and is often plain incorrect. She has applicants to her company write the content for free, and she adds it to the platform without seeing if any of it is correct or safe. This is concerning.

Fake employment assessment

Just as the previous comment says, this company (?) wants you to do an assessment by creating content that takes your at least 3-4 hours and then wants you to upload it. I am sure that if I did that they would say that I didn't get the job. So I only sent them screenshots but they didn't move forward, because as we know it they are using slave labor to do their few hours of job. Instead of talking and writing to me for a few hours they could have easily done their job. They hire for sales department and want you to fill content for kids...

Type of a scam Employment

This company is posting ads on craigslist pretending to be legit job opportunities. But when contacted, they say they need 40 hours volunteer time before having the job. No one at the company is a previous hire, they say all their previous work is done by past interns.

They are just using free labor from people under the guise of an interview. It constitutes fraud. And they are using that labor to apply for goverment grants. Then at the end of the week they tell the person they did not perform up to par, and they can either continue to perform free labor until they get the job, or they will "hire" a new employee that will work for them for free. They plagiarize all their work on top of that.
