I advertised a 66” wide UTV snowblower on Craigslist in Spokane, WA for $5000.00. The scammer texted me said they were a dealer in California and would send a certified bank check. They sent the check but it was for $8500.00 and told me “you will receive the check today. The check is for $8,500 so you’ll deduct $5,000 for the Purchase, Plus extra $50 for your running around and send the remainder money of $3,450 to my shipper after check is deposited and clears to offset shipment once check clears i will contact you with further information and instruction for the rest funds and pickup instruction.”

They did send the check, it was on Suntrust Bank in Atlanta, GA, it was not certified, we didn’t even have to sign for it.
