They called and left me a voicemail and they game me another number to  8668312739. I called the number and the recording stated Thank you for calling Spectrum and I pressed 2 and I informed him that I received a message and I gave him my account number, he knew my address and then he told me that my number is not associated to the home.  He placed me hold and he gave me a plan and he told me that my plan would be $55.00 and none of my services would change and in order to get the deal I would need to pay $440.00 and I said I am not paying that because why would I have to pay that amount with a debit card now since I am a good customer.  He wanted to transfer me to billing department and I informed him not to transfer me and that I would be contacting the BBB.

Thats just not right, theese people should be ashamed

Scammer asked if we were happy with our internet provider (the callers company). When I answered no, was asked for my home address and he pulled up my account. The scam: they will provide extra services for two years at reduced rates since I’m loyal customer. Needed credit card info to process.

I am now a former Spectrum customer and wanted to share my experience on 9/18/2022.

I called Spectrum in August and September of 2022 to make sure that my Internet will be transferred smoothly from my former place to my new place without any issues. I was told that I just needed to bring my equipment to my new place and hook it in without any issues.

When I connected the modem & router at my new place, I wasn’t able to connect to the Internet so I called Spectrum customer service. The first woman I spoke with, Trish, spent one full hour trying to sell me on cable TV and cell phone services after I repeatedly told her no and that I only wanted help with my Internet since I was in the middle of a move (with movers!). She told me she heard me but that I need to tell her what I watched on TV and who my cell phone providers were. I told her that I already had this conversation with former agents and I’m not interested and she said “well, you haven’t talked to me yet.” The way she tried to sell me products was so frustrating because she wouldn’t listen to me and kept asking how much I was paying for my cell phone and what I was watching. I told her repeatedly that I was in the middle of a move and I only wanted help with my Internet set up. Because of her, I spent a total of 2.5 hours on the phone during my move.

Before she transferred me to another agent, she snuck in one free week of cable television and directly asked for the last 4 digits of my IMEI on my phone to get me “better cell phone service” to transfer my cell phone providers. She didn’t even ask if I wanted the free week of cable and just added it to my account. I said no, please do not add anything and she said okay and transferred me to another agent.

After being transferred to multiple agents, they all told me that my Internet was removed and that cable was added. Additionally, I received equipment for cable tv the following day and had to make an extra trip to the store to return it. Because of Trish, the last agent I spoke with couldn’t even put me back into my former internet plan of $39.99 500 mbps (to match frontier when I first called in August to potentially cancel and switch providers) bc my account had too many pending transactions. Now I have to either call back the following day or wait for the last agent that I spoke with to call me back. He never called me back. The leadership team who was supposed to return my call regarding this issue (Ashland? 407-942-8620) also never returned my phone call after discussing with him that I needed an answer whether he can place me back onto my former plan or I’ll just switch (which I should've done in hindsight). He reassured that he’ll call me back asap on 9/21 to see if he can add me back onto my former plan but the investigation into the customer representatives who committed fraud will take 3-5 days. He never called me back or returned my phone call when I called him.

This has been the worst customer experience of my life and felt like Trish, and all the customer service representatives, failed me and we're only interested in their own commission. Be sure to never give them your actual cell phone provider or any personal information because Trish kept prolonging the conversation and trying to get more and more information just to transfer my services without my permission.

I’m now with Frontier. No hassle and straight forward service. They also an offer 500 mbps for $39.99 and $100 Visa gift card if you sign up.

In April 2022, A technician Mr Kenneth Jenkins (claimed to work-independent subcon) for Specrum installed services for *** ******* *** *******. The equipment Mr Jenkins installed appears fradulent. For example the channels relay channels by Dish Network. I left DISH NETWORK becauseof very poor quality lineup; why I stopped using DISH services. Furthermore, the delivered equipment does not coincide with Sepectrum/Charter Communications mission of delivering quality channels - These channels mimic DISH. Also, there's now way a customer can switch over to a different savings by adding more offers. Im very dissapointed with the Spectrums billing (nickle and dimimng) money from patrons to buy channels a la cart.

I wanted to report a scam phone call. Caller said she was with Spectrum. Giving Seniors a discount. I received the call last Saturday and today. Would reduce my bill to $113 a month. Wanted to know my credit card number. I would need to pay $90 for three new boxes. I gave my husbands Social Security number and our account number. I called Spectrum and it is a scam. They did not call and offer this. My caller ID showed phone number 440-230-0828.

I received a call from Charter Spectrum yesterday. Callers name was Mr. Bird. I am a new customer. My caller ID showed unknown. He gave phone number 916-888-4222 He was offering a discount. Customers have recently had trouble with cable television reception. They are remotely upgrading the cable box for all customers. He requested $100 immediately. It would be reimbursed in January 2022. Wanted a personal check be sent to Charter Spectrum P.O. Box 300725 Brooklyn NY 11230. I agreed. I wondered if it was a scam. I mailed the check. I called Spectrum on the phone number that is on my bill. I was told they do not do this over the phone. I contacted my bank and cancelled the check.

I needed to contact my internet service provider, AT&T, to upgrade my services. I did a quick search on my phone using Google Chrome and the search term “att.” I clicked on the site www.att-promotions.com which displayed offers purportedly from AT&T, along with a call button. I called the number and heard a welcome from AT&T along with the standard robo phone prompts. Finally, I was connected to a service person who had my account information. She said that AT&T could not offer me the service I wanted but would connect me with a faster package. She breezily mentioned that I would be connected with Spectrum. I did not realize that Spectrum was a separate company and not part of AT&T, as this was never made clear. The service person had my information, and I was carried along by the deception that I was contacting AT&T. I signed up for services through Spectrum, believing I was contacting AT&T. I felt odd about it all, rushed through, and confused. When I got off the phone, I looked up Spectrum. I realized that I had been shockingly scammed. The service person had said to call the 800 number if I needed to alter my package, so after I hung up, I called the AT&T number on my phone bill. I told the actual AT&T serviceperson what I’d experienced. She helped me contact Spectrum and cancel the package I‘d mistakenly purchased, and upgrade my AT&T services as I’d intended.

Stephanie called me, saying she worked for Charter's Promotional Department and offered me a better price for cable/internet/phone. We set up a service appointment. Two days later all my service was shut off and a technician didn't come. I called Charter and they told me their notes only said I was cancelling because I was moving. I restarted my account the day it was shut off. Today a man claiming to work with Stephanie called to say the Technician didn't come because they needed the instillation fee and first months payment up-front. I was suppose to be getting a call back from Stephanie. I called the real Charter and they told me that the number Stephanie gave me was from Nevada and not in their system. There is not Charter Spectrum in Nevada.
