I was contacted by text message and agreed to create a business website. I was asked to provide an estimate, which I did, for $800. I was asked about payment, suggested a personal check or Paypal. The scammer didn't like Paypal, so I sent an invoice through the Square service. I then received a further text: "I want you to cancel the invoice you sent me before and make total invoice for $1950 once the fund is available you will take your payment for $800 also a tip $50 and you will help me send it to the remaining $1100 to the project consultant so he will send the text content and logo needed for my website to you." I replied that I would cancel the invoice, but that we were done, I was not going to be scammed, and to not contact me again.
