**** ***** received the email below from Alphanso (Al) Blye on February 2, 2024.

Good Morning,

My name is Al, I am contacting you to inquire about the best way to make a monetary donation in memory of my late mom. I would like to confirm where to mail a check for this donation to be utilized in a way that further supports your cause.

Could you please advise me on who I should coordinate this donation with at your organization? I'm also interested in learning about any commemorative giving programs you may offer to recognize my mother and her donation.

Thank you for your guidance on this. Look forward to connecting further.

Sincerely,

Alphanso B.

Wednesday, February 7

***** received a call from Fed Ex that there was a package that was addressed to **** *****, ************ ******** **** * *** ******* ********* ** *****. The FedEx courier did not think that the 1500 N 2nd Street address was still valid and so they took the package back to the FedEx business.

***** went to the FedEx building and picked up the package. ***** wasn’t sure what it was so texted ****, as she was on vacation. **** said to open it.

Thursday, February 8

***** opened the FedEx package. It was a check in a plain white envelope with no paperwork. ***** then Slacked ****, as she was on vacation with limited texting options. Slack messages below.

***** ** **** ***** ** OK, I'm sorry and know that this will be the last time I message you. Do you know anything about a check coming from a Frank Financial Services in New York, NY. We received a check and it says "in memory of Mr. B Barrington" and the purpose/remitter of the check is Alphanso Blye. No paperwork, no nothing. This was what was in the Fed Ex envelope yesterday.

**** ** ***** ***** ** Yes, that’s the Al that I got the email from. For sisters most needed. I think the paperwork is on my stand up desk. I printed his email. Would you mind emailing him to let him know it arrived. Thank you.

Hello Al,

The donation has not processed yet. That should take place next week and I will let you know when that has been completed.

Per your other email (copied below), I would like to wait until **** is back in the office for other correspondence, since she is the one whom you initially talked to about everything.

Hey *** - can you call me right away this morning. I need your help with something. We got this same "scam" email from this Al Blye and got a check as well. I just was wondering if you would call or maybe I could call ***** ** *** ******* and see what we need to do, if anything, with this. We did not cash the check ... thank goodness as I just had weird vibes on it!

*** did reach out to ***** ** *** *** ******* ***** to let her know that we also received the same scam email message.

***** said to connect with ***** ******* at the Sioux Falls Better Business Bureau to let her know.

KELO also reached out to us and wanted to do a “follow-up” in that another local non-profit had received this same scan. ****** reached out to Kelo and said we did not want to have our name on anything at this time.

****** ***y gave her approval to fill out the online form at the ScamPulse.com so **** completed that form with all the above information.</[email protected]></***********************************...
