Received an email stating that the renewal of my software was paid and it was paid through my bank for $489 .

I called the number to cancel it. The told me to open my account and they would deposit the money but I would have to key in the amount. He said he wanted me to do it in two deposits. Starting with $130. When I tried to enter the amount the decimal point would not register and it read $13,000. He said (angry) you are trying to steal our money. I said, no. He said, you need to get gift cards from Walmart or Target to return our money or I will call the police.

When he referenced gift cards, I immediately said this is a scam. He says no you are a thief and I will call the police. I said great get them on the line I would love to tell them what a sorry piece of crap you are trying to steal from old people. He says he’s crashing my computer which he did.

I went to PNC bank. He was able to mess with my accounts but not remove money. The $13000 was money he moved from my Savings account into my Checking account. He made it appear to be the messed up entry of $13,000.

I closed my accounts. And opened new. I took my computer to Geek squad.

I did not lose any money but I’m 69 years old and it has been a nightmare.
