I needed to change my address with the post office because I am moving. I googled 'change my address' and the first site is theirs. It states Post Office Change of Address. When going into the site it is shades of blue - similar to USPS. I got toward the end of the process and part of the services offered now were to add my name to the do not call list, something I've been meaning to do lately. I thought, how nice that USPS is helping with this process so I said that would be fine. There was NOTHING mentioned about cost for this service or the change of address service. I've moved in the past and new it cost $1 when doing the change online. I assumed the cost hadn't gone up or if it did it wasn't by much. I got to the end when it said everything was complete and there wasn't a logo for USPS which made me nervous. I went to my bank's website and had a hold on my card for $79.95!!! I instantly called my bank and they called the company with me on a three way call. My bank initiated the call and when I was on the line they instantly said they'd refund me. The woman from my bank hadn't mentioned a refund at all so it seems like they get this call often. She first tried to say she could refund my transaction down to $9.95. I asked again if there was anyway to refund it entirely. She said she could still process my change of address and it would only cost $1.95. My bank and I agreed this would be find because they were still technically doing a 'service' for me. This entire website is misleading. I understand this could have been avoided if I had just gone to the post office or taken my time looking at the website.
