I went to this company‘s website chagamushes.com to make a purchase. After adding items to my cart and proceeding to check out, I thought the next page would be the payment screen however I received an email confirming my order and asking if I was ready to make payment via Apple Pay as I had selected on the website. I replied to the email that I was ready to pay and they provided me with an email address to send my Apple payment to. I was instructed to send confirmation of payment via a screenshot which I did. Once my order was “processed”, I received an email with a link to track my package. I received the same information via text message from the company that was supposed to be shipping my product (Routehaven Cargo). The following day I received a text message from route Haven cargo indicating that I need to pay $210 for shipping insurance. I called the number on the website and got no answer. Then I emailed the address on the website and did not receive a reply. I replied to the text, asking for assistance in how to make payment for the shipping insurance at which time I received a text in reply with the option to pay via Zelle or Apple Pay. I made the payment via Apple Pay and the following day. I received another text message from the shipper indicating that I need to pay an additional $301 for a custom stamp to ensure discreet shipping. At this point, the red flags that I should have seen became visible.
