This is in reference to two home improvement contractors placing their ads in the magazine titled Home Concepts Magazine-August 2023 issue . It appears that Home Improvement

1.”Canals Cleaning & Restoration” – 832-669-6127 – no physical address published. Got their contact number from their add published by “Home Concepts, a free monthy magazine/flyer for homeowners. “Cannals” claim that they provide over 25 years of experience in cleaning and restoration of a long list of residential and commercial tasks including tile cleaning showing the BEFORE AND AFTER pictures of different types of wood flooring and tile/grout flooring.

Not only did they do an extremely poor job but the owner/operator showed lack-of-experience and carelessness in handling the job and without taking taking any precautions to avoid damage to other areas in our house or removing the debris generated by the removal the existing sealant and grout. They left the wooden bottom base boards in total disrepair. The client cannot inspect progress made by owner/operator because of the need to wait at least 4 hours before walking on the newly restored tiles, so by the time the client/user could inspect the job, the owner/contractor probably already reached the bank to cash the check for a very poor job. What appears to be a trend now is for clever and dishonest folks to create free monthly magazines assuming that contractors good and bad pay to advertise in these magazines without any risk. The magazine staff most likely makes money from the contractors without performing due diligence scrutiny on their expertise claims and with total disregard for quality to the client/user. All and all appears that money drive these magazines to take anybody who needs to advertise without proper staffing their organization to verify the claims of their contractors like the ScamPulse.com would do.

2.”The Grout Doctor” – 713-997-0960 - no physical address published. How could anybody use the services of someone who provides a quote without specifying the area to be cleaned/restored, the method to be used (steam, acid, etc), the period required to complete the job, the precautions to be observed during the tasks, etc, etc? Please refer to the attached quote for this contractor
