I received an email from 'Certn' with a link to complete a background check asking for personal information like name, address, driver's license info, work and education history, personal details, criminal history, etc. I have no idea where they got my email so I asked and they told me a 'hiring manager' had ordered the background check. I have not applied for a job nor have any other reason to do a background check. In any case wouldn't give out identity information online even if it is a legitimate company. The company does exist online but there is something suspicious about the request.
