Their perception was that they were a remote business. In addition to a phone interview, I had to fill out IRS W-4 tax forms and USCIS I-9 forms prior to being hired. It seemed extremely legit. The person they call my curator kept in touch with me constantly. If I had any questions or needed assistance with job duties, she was always available to answer them. As part of my training, I was informed that I would be on probation for 30 days and that I would be paid by check through the mail at the end. However, I was not aware of the whole scam until after my probationary period. It was all a waste of time and I never got paid for it.

I was contacted about a job as an “inventory packer”. I filled out an application, I had an interview, I signed a contract and used a very legit looking website for the “shipments”. I was told it would be a 30 day probationary period. And I would be paid by a paper check after the 30 days. But the check never came.
