Type of a scam Debt Collections
She then stated that "well, if this isn't resolved, I have your information right here; am I calling you at (She asked me to confirm my POE name and address)? I said, yes it is (As a former collection agent, I KNEW she was breaking SEVERAL laws and wanted her to go on. She stated that "authorities will be sent to my location to arrest me". I then hung up the phone.
Consequently, I received another call to my POE phone just today from someone named Mr. Tiddle. He again stated that he was seeking payment for an unpaid PayDay loan from 2011-the same company as the "lady" from yesterday. I advised that if they wanted to send "the authorities" for me, to please do so. He then started to berate me and accused me of being "a little boy who doesn't handle his responsibilities" and then asked for confirmation of my checking account and relative names. I gave him none of that information and then asked him if he was aware of the The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA); he said "no, MY NAME, why don;t you tell me about it"
I advised that he alone violated SEVERAL laws of the FDCPA and that I was reporting him. I advised that he NO LONGER call any phone number associated with this "account" and that he cease and desist immediately. He became verbally abusive and loud and then I hung up.
