I was told by a friend of 50 years that there are CDGB grants available and that he received $75,000 grant free! He gave me the number to text and I text the number with the message, I was told you have CDBG grants? he Agent Pettit Merkel text me back and send questions for me to fill out. Questions were; My full name, my gender, if I owned a car, if I owned my home, and my Facebook password, for verification. As soon as I texted back, I received a call from Microsoft telling me someone was compromising my computer. Of course I freaked out and listened to them. Because here I was on my cell phone talking to this agent and figured they were the one logging into my Facebook.

The alleged Microsoft rep. then offered me a subscription for 1 year too take care of this problem for $299.99. I immediately disconnected from this person and connected to Facebook, because they asked me was I the one who just signed in. They went asked me 4 questions, and changed my password.

At this time I'm still texting this CDBG person, by now the agent is telling me I qualify for $75,000.00 grant and was I ready too finish. I said ok, and then she text me back that when the money was delivered to my address in cash, I would have too pay $550 delivery fee. I text back, I have to pay to receive money? That makes no sense! I texted back, I have no money and then, the agent texted back that the agent would deposit in my checking account the money, if I promised to pay the agent out of my account! The agent then texted me the information needed to wire to my account. The following is what the agent said was needed; Name on bank account, account number, name of bank, bank address, my login in name and password, mother's maiden name! I texted back, all you would need is name and address of bank, account number and routing number to make a wire transfer! I then texted back I was so close to having my prayers answered, and this is a scam! I then blocked the number from my phone.

My friend that I got this number from has told me that he paid the $550, and that he did indeed received $75,000.00 in cash! I haven't seen this in person.

I feel it's a scam, because who would give out that kind of information?
