On 06/29/2023, mechanic named Orlando Galaviz stated he would provide air conditioning repair for 2013 Kia Sorento at set price. Prior to arranging repair I informed Orlando that the mechanical issue was electrical as I had received that information from a previous mechanic. He informed me that I would pay a deposit which totaled $210 including taxes and that deposit would be applied towards the total cost of repair. Mechanic had the car at his shop and performed no repairs. He informed me they had ordered the part for repair however it was the wrong part and they would follow up with me in 2 days. I did not receive a call and when I contacted them again they told me they had received the second replacement however it was still the wrong part and the cycle of deception continued. On 07/12/2023 I contacted the mechanic again and he informed me that once again the part they received was wrong and they needed to reorder it. I asked the mechanic what the total cost would be and he stated it would be $440 for the part and additional for labor. I said I want a statement for the total cost and as verbally discussed for my deposit to be deducted and reflected in the final price. He then lied and said that the deposit I paid was for his diagnosis and he charged an hourly fee. He then lied further and stated he spent six hours finding the issue on my car when this mechanic was working on multiple cars throughout the day while neglecting to work on mine. The initial meeting this man stated everything would be a set price and there was not an hourly fee however now he felt comfortable to change the verbal agreement. I informed him that was not our initial agreement and how he is now committing fraudulent behavior. He then told me if I don’t like the price then don’t bring the car. No resolution, just blatant robbery. The air conditioning is still broken and now I have been scammed out of $210.
