I wanted to buy a cavalier King Charles spaniel for my daughter for Christmas. I had to fill out a long questionnaire to qualify for a puppy then I chose the puppy I wanted from a picture with a description on the website. I texted the lady and asked questions about the puppy all day long and agreed to send half the money for the puppy plus half the shipping cost and then pay the other half after receiving the puppy. I received a text with tracking number for the shipping. The puppy supposedly was shipping with a nanny to insure that it was safe. It departed from so Paso TX en route to me but stopped in Norman, OK and it was determined that the puppy did not have travel insurance and they wanted me to purchase this insurance for $1400 and it would be refunded to me when the puppy arrived safely. I thought this sounded very fishy and refused to pay it at which time the lady who called herself Martina Garcia told me that if I just paid her the remainder of the porchsee price for the puppy, she would cover the rest of the insurance. I said I would t pay any more money until I had the puppy in my possession and then she went on and on to accuse me of not caring about the poor puppy stranded in Oklahoma. So I told her I knew someone who lived 2 hours away who could go get the puppy and she said the puppy would t be released from the airport unless the insurance was paid. I’m sure at this point that there never was a puppy, I fell victim to a puppy scam and I have a heartbroken little girl and I lost a lot of money. Hopefully someone can track down these people and shut them down. How do they sleep at night? I doubt I will get my money back but I will try. I had contacted a reputable breeder before this but would have had to wait a year for a puppy, so I did an online search. Oddly enough, my other dog I did purchase online paid the entire price ahead of time and received the dog without issue which is why I didn’t realize this was a scam at first. This was pretty elaborate though. They have a website, a long questionnaire, talk about the puppy and it’s personality etc. was believable up to the insurance part.
