There are actually 2 scams. I went online and applied for a loan at a www.cashloaner.ca (I also believe that this website is part of the scam). A day later a man named Freddie Green called me, told me he could find me a private lender, I just needed to either provide a co-signer or pay for insurance to cover the loan. I was emailed a contract with the lender being "Carlton Financial Group" out of Vancouver. I received a copy of a contract. It looked legitimate. I amassed the funds for the insurance, but when I called the toll free phone number attached to the contract I started to get suspicious. I also noticed the address didn't have a suite. I looked up the address and spoke to a business owner at the address indicated and to the property manager. They both said there was no company there by that name, and according to the PM nor had there ever been. At that point I ceased contact with the individual.
