My daughter contacted what she thought was Cash App through a web search. She was trying to get in her account to retrieve some money I had sent her. They called me to verify her credentials and asked me how I sent the money - using the money I already had in cash app or from my bank account. It was through my bank so they asked what my balance was at the time. I sent it so they could set up a refund in the account. Long story short, they tool $4,000 out of my account. I didn't give them any account information. They took it from my cash app account somehow. They called me at a time when I was very busy and I wasn't thinking well. The caller was from from India which, a few years ago would have been a clue, but big corporations now outsource almost all service.
