I received an email stating I owed $1986.75 and since I have ignored their previous emails I need to let them know what my intentions are by the end of the day. They had a case file number and stated if I did not pay, I would then owe $26,220. I went online and found the same exact threat with the same exact amounts found under scams. There are no phone numbers to contact them. I reported it as "phishing" and the email disappeared, but I printed a copy of it prior to it disappearing. My mother received a threatening phone call last week about a collection for me - I am not sure if it is related, but is also listed as a scam phone number (844) 870 - 9806. I told her to ignore the phone call, but now after this email, I am not sure what to do, because it lists my SS#.
