I tried to rent from a creditable car rental place for the weekend but all of the online business through Dollar Rent A Car is now channeled to a company named CarTrawler (an online renter of cars who uses the Dollar name to recruit business then through loopholes and online traps extorts money from customers who are unsatisfied). This company's website is nothing but an endless loop of BS. All links will eventually lead to the same page if you are attempting to contact the company for any type of customer service. When I contacted them to change the pick up time on the vehicle that I wanted to rent, I was pushed around from phone rep to phone rep (one of the customer service numbers is actually the Thrifty rental company) and didn't even speak with anyone who could help me. When I asked customer service to cancel the reservation (just so they could change the time...not to actually cancel the entire reservation), I was told that cancelling my current reservation would cost $55.

I was so upset with the service that I asked to speak to the manager...a Ciaran Curley. Mr. Curley also confirmed that there was nothing for me to do but to pay the $55.

So all in all...I called to change my pick up time for a rental. Not only did this CarTrawler company treat me with disrespect by not allowing me to change the pick up time online but by also not offering to cancel and replace the reservation to help me avoid a fee which is imposed with no warrant.
