We posted something on Craig's list and got a text from "Jack" saying to email his mom about the item. We emailed his mom, "Carol" and she said she was a nurse working night shifts but really wanted our item. She offered to pay $50. extra if we'd remove the listing. Her husband would "overnight" us a cashier's check. I only skimmed the original email, and assumed it was a genuine buyer. I gave her my name, email, and cell number. After reading the email more closely, we noticed the grammar was terrible, and it seemed odd she'd pay more than asking price and be in such a hurry to buy our item. Despite telling her we could only accept cash, she continued saying she was sending a check.

She assured me she was an "honest Christian". Anyone who has to point out they are honest or Christian, usually is neither. We have ceased contact with her and warned that we have reported her to the BBB. After her email, we've gotten emails from Malcolm Shaquille and Nancy Jacobs with identical requests as "Carol".

DO NOT accept check or money order, or cash it! This is the scam, not just the personal information, but the check is intended to access your bank account.
