I recieved an envelope in the mail Wednesday May 16th containing instructions to evaluate the new Walmart in my area. They gave me a cashiers check I was supposed to deposit in to my account and buy money orders with. Apparently the Walmart money center was over charging people or declining services for no other reason than because they felt like it, thus the need for me, the secret shopper. I was then asked to switch the plan of taking the money orders to fed ex to evaluate their customer service, to taking them and depositing the money into a Wells Fargo account. Now at this point I know it’s a scam but I can’t do anything about it and I’m thinking these crazy people know where I live and I don’t want them breaking in and trying to kill me. So I deposit the money as told. I realize Monday may 21st that my account has been overdrawn. I look at the transactions and the check I HAD THE BANK DEPOSIT AND THEN DOUBLE CHECK WAS FRAUDULENT!! So I lost over $*** of my own money and now I’m overdrawn almost $***, my bank says there’s nothing they can do to help, and they will not take responsibility for lying to me and saying it was a good check. Thankfully I have every receipt for everything I did: money orders, deposit slips, and bank statements. I’ve filed a police report but honestly, no one cares. No one can help you. PLEASE take my advice; if it looks too good to be true, it is!! If you are a religious person pray for myself and my family. We just moved into a (new to us) house and setting us back this much it’s detrimental to our livelihood. I’m trying to find comfort in knowing this review might help someone else in this situation.
