I recently purchased a career mentorship service from someone named Xue Hua. She claims to work as a software engineer at Tesla and offers a mentorship program aiding individuals in securing roles within the tech industry. I discovered her on LinkedIn, https://www.linkedin.com/in/xuengineer and believed she could provide the necessary assistance. The service was purchased on 10/13/23, with the contract commencing on 10/16/23. The payment was made through this website: https://www.optimizecareers.com/offers/FcuEEbRC. The program was assured to last 6 months or until the client (me) secures a role in tech. However, on Friday, December 2nd, she informed our mentee group that she could no longer continue the program. The service was abruptly stopped, and the program terminated entirely due to a conflict of interest arising from her full-time role at Tesla. She mentioned her new manager raised concerns and instructed her to halt the program. Despite the duration I've been in the program, the services I received didn't align with the promised offerings. I've identified shortcomings in key areas outlined in the program packet and contract, including personalized support, creative strategies, LinkedIn profile visibility, interview preparation, salary negotiation, and 1-on-1 coaching sessions. The program's sudden shutdown due to Xue Hua's work conflict breaches the contract. As a paying client who actively participated as instructed, I expect a full refund of $2500. Despite my request, she's unwilling to refund the entire amount and offered only $1000, pressuring me to accept after I attempted to negotiate multiple times. I've referred to the contract, clarifying I'm not liable for her business loss. She provided a breakdown of costs, seemingly deducting all expenses associated with her program resources, which seems unjust and lacks transparency. I lack proof of her claimed conflict of interest. I'm puzzled as to why, as a compliant client, I'm being compelled to pay for unfulfilled services and offered an insufficient amount. Her business still appears on other freelance hosting websites, raising concerns about her claimed work conflict. I've invested my money, effort, and time into this program without receiving a fair return. I suspect this may be a fraudulent business, taking money without delivering promised services. I have spoken to a lawyer after he reviewed the contract, it was definitely breach of contract and I'm entitle for a full refund.
